Monthly Archives: October 2016

Here are a just a few glimpses from our school’s favorite unofficial spirit day!

A dinosaur and a bumblebee, that’s just about as random as it gets.

Our Monitors had a splash of yellow, as is their custom…

There was a little treat in the cafeteria during lunch (not including Dr. Greenwood’s tie)!

A fabulous Good Witch visited in the Courtyard.

Our School Counseling staff uncharacteristically leaving things “to chance.”

We could not be prouder of our Community Council members who collaborated with Student Services and Tech Ed to create adaptive Halloween costumes for four Darien children. Pictured below is Queen Charlotte in her carriage.  Thank you for always showing your Blue Wave enthusiasm and care to others in our community.

Our Fuel Cell Team recently attended the 2016 World Maker Faire at the New York Hall of Science and was named within the Top 5 Best Maker Faire exhibits. The team presented on the advancements of alternative energy and their recent successes at the Shell Eco-Marathon. Please help me congratulate David Kristof, Alberto Calderon, Thomas Tousignant, Samuel Pfrommer, Maguire Shea, Andrew Tomasello, Slater Lovegrove and the rest of the Fuel Cell Team for being recognized at the World Maker Faire.

Click here to view the Maker Faire video announcement.  Our project is discussed at the 2:05 mark.  Well done!

There is a special excitement in the halls during announcements on Friday mornings since Dr. Greenwood instituted the Friday Movie Quote contest.  It just takes a moment from the day and students are enthusiastic participants.  Mr. Nelson’s Woodworking 1 class were victorious on Friday, October 7 with Finding Dory.  Stay tuned!
